The Soledad-Ellis Family
We are focused on planting Biblical truth in people's lives, explaining the Bible on a level each individual can understand, and teaching that Jesus was a real person, the son of God, who really lived a perfect life, died for our sins, and raised from the dead!
Carlos has extensive theological training and has served in many capacities in several churches in Cd. Juarez. For the last 8 years he has taught English in a private school, and for 2 of those years pastored Good Shepherd Church. Carlos is transitioning in July of 2025 to full time ministry in our church! He will have more time and energy to visit members, create events and invite the community into our little church.

Sarah felt called to Juarez in 2015 during a missions trip and interned in a children's home in 2016 for six months. This is where she met Carlos (he cared for teen and preteen boys during the day) and they married 2017. Leading up to Carlos transitioning away from a full time teaching job, Sarah has been working part time in an assisted living community in El Paso since October of 2024.
The church we lead is called Good Shepherd Bible Church and has a regular attendance of 8, and irregular attendance up to 22 people, 5 including our immediate family of Carlos, Sarah, Job, Levi and Malachi. We are part of an association of churches, including 3 others. Each quarter leaders from each church meet to discuss holiday celebrations, evangelism, camps and finances. Carlos has been instrumental in pushing for evangelism, inviting communities to service, being involved in members' lives and getting trained pastors preaching and serving in these churches. We have had teacher trainings, a men's event and kids camps to share the gospel with communities surrounding each church.
We have a long term construction vision for our property and old, falling apart adobe church. With 30 adults it's a tight squeeze. We have enough property to construct a more functional building where ideally the sanctuary does not separate the children's room and only bathroom! We know these things come with time, prayer and partnership.
