Samiratou Bamogo is a bright and determined 10-year-old girl (2015) in the 4th grade for the 2025-26 school year. She lives with her parents in a modest home that lacks running water and electricity, yet their family finds ways to thrive together. The well where they collect water is just 100 meters from their house, and although neither parent has a regular job, they work diligently on their small farm to grow food for the year during the rainy season. Every school day, Samiratou walks nearly 4 kilometers, never letting the distance dampen her enthusiasm for learning, especially in Science class. She dreams of serving her country in the military someday, and while she is still young, she loves playing hide and seek with friends or helping her mother wash the dishes.

Coming from a Muslim family, Samiratou’s journey is one filled with hope and new opportunities.
