Rebecca was born in 2020 in a remote village in West Africa. Her parents are both living, but their circumstances are extremely difficult.

Recently, Rebecca and her family were forced to flee their home when terrorists invaded their village. They had to leave quickly, taking only what they could carry. Extended family members have welcomed them into their home, but the family has no means of supporting themselves.

Back in their village, Rebecca’s parents were farmers. They depended on their crops to provide food for their family, but everything they worked for was left behind. Now, their future is uncertain.

Amid all this uncertainty, school provides Rebecca with a sense of stability and hope. She is so excited to begin first grade for the 2026–2027 school year. She dreams of spending her days learning alongside her friends, learning to read and write, and building a brighter future. But her father does not know how he will be able to pay her school fees.
