Oumou is an energetic 11-year-old girl (2025) living with her aunt in a rural community, where both her parents are still alive but unable to provide daily care. Her family depends on subsistence farming during the rainy season, working together to grow enough food for their needs. Without regular jobs, they face challenges, yet they remain united and hopeful. Though they lack running water at home, Oumou fetches water from a well just 300 meters away, learning the value of perseverance each day.

Every morning, Oumou rides her bike 800 meters to school, determined to pursue her education. She has a special love for science and eagerly helps with chores when she returns home, supporting her family however she can. Despite obstacles, Oumou dreams of becoming a teacher, inspired by her faith and the encouragement she receives from her community. Through Christian sponsorship, Oumou’s story is filled with joy, as she works toward a brighter future for herself and those around her,  learning about the hope and love that can be found in Jesus Christ.
