Nathan was born in 2019 in a remote village in West Africa. His parents are alive, but their family has recently experienced tremendous hardship and displacement.

When terrorists invaded their village, Nathan and his parents had to flee quickly, taking only what they could carry. They were forced to leave their home, belongings, crops, and livelihood behind. They are now staying with extended family and do not know when—or if—they will be able to return home.

Before they were displaced, Nathan’s family were farmers who depended on their crops to provide food and income. With everything left behind, they currently have no reliable means of supporting themselves. Their immediate priority is having enough food for the family, while Nathan’s father continues to hope that his son can remain in school.

Nathan is in the 2nd grade during the 2026–2027 school year. Attending school provides him with structure, stability, and a sense of normalcy after so much upheaval. However, without a steady income, his father may not be able to afford his tuition.

Twice a year, Nathan and his family would also receive a gift of soap and 100 pounds of rice—an enormous blessing and practical answer to prayer for a family facing such difficult circumstances.
