Madou
Madou was born in a remote village in West Africa in 2012. His mother and father are both living. However, his father is blind and is unable to work to help support his family. Madou and his family share a small two room house constructed of mud bricks with a tin roof. The strong rains during the rainy season often cause parts of the house to deteriorate and the roof to leak. Without the means to repair their house the family must endure the damage caused to their belongings within. There is no electricity in their village and water must be fetched every day from a well that is over a kilometer from their home.
Like most families in this region, Madou’s family are farmers. They depend on the corn they grow to provide food for the coming year. When the rains are plentiful the family rejoices but drought often causes the harvest to be insufficient. Having enough food is a constant worry. Madou helps in the fields when he is not in school. He also helps his mother by doing many other chores.
This year (2024-2025) he is in the sixth grade. He knows that many children do not have this opportunity. Classrooms are overcrowded and educational resources are lacking. Madou is grateful to be enrolled in school and knows it is not easy for his mother to pay his tuition.
Sponsorship donations pay for tuition uniforms and school fees. Twice a year Madou and his family would be given 100 pounds of rice and some soap. What a blessing it would be if you would sponsor Madou!
