Hello, my name is Faicale. I am a Muslim. I was born on September 22, 2013. Both of my parents are still alive, but they split up after I was born. Now I live with my grandmother, who not only takes care of me, but also 5 other siblings and cousins. We do not have running water or electricity in our home. The well is about a kilometer away, but we still need to go there every day so that we have enough water for all our cooking, drinking, and cleaning. I was born a deaf mute. Because of this, I will not be able to attend a normal school in our village like my siblings and cousins. My neighbor works for Sheltering Wings and was able to introduce us. Now Sheltering Wings has found me a spot in a special school for deaf people where I will learn to speak sign language, but I will also learn all of the normal things that kids learn in school like math and reading! They even have special times when my family can come learn sign language so that they can speak to me, too!! I am so excited.
