Asmao is a bright and resilient young girl living with her grandmother and sibling. After her father passed away, her mother remarried, following cultural traditions, and now Asmao’s days are spent in a humble home that lacks running water and electricity. Their closest well is nearly a kilometer away, and without a protective wall around their house, they face each day together with courage. Despite not having a bike, Asmao walks to school with hope in her heart, always eager to learn—even though she sometimes struggles because of a handicap in her fingers.

She enjoys geography at school and dreams of becoming a seamstress one day, inspired by her love of creativity and the caring spirit of her grandmother. When she’s not studying, Asmao helps with chores or plays marbles with her friends and neighbors, bringing joy to her family even in difficult times.
