Abdias was born in 2019 in a remote village in West Africa. He is a typical seven-year-old boy who loves spending time with his friends, playing soccer, and going to school.

Recently, Abdias’s life changed dramatically when he and his family were forced to flee their home. Terrorists invaded their village, ransacking homes and taking crops and belongings. Although his parents are alive, the family is now extremely vulnerable. They had to leave behind nearly everything they owned, taking only what they could carry.

For now, the family is staying with extended relatives, but they do not know when—or if—they will be able to return home. They have no means of supporting themselves. In their village, they were farmers and depended on their crops to provide food and income for the family. Those crops and everything they had worked for were left behind.

Their future is uncertain.

Abdias is in second grade during the 2026–2027 school year. Attending school provides much-needed structure and stability after so much chaos and loss. His father deeply wants him to continue his education so that he will have greater opportunities in the future. However, without a steady income, paying Abdias’s tuition may become impossible.

Right now, the family’s most immediate priority is having enough food to eat. A twice-yearly donation of 100 pounds of rice would provide meaningful assistance to the entire family while helping relieve some of the pressure they are facing.
