Abasse is a bright young boy living in a small home with his mother and sibling. Though both of his parents are alive, Abasse’s father is rarely present, leaving his mother to care for the family. Their house does not have running water or electricity, but a nearby well provides water for their daily needs. Every day, Abasse walks about a kilometer to school, determined to learn and build a better future. He helps care for their animals after class and shares a special bond with his sibling, who also attends school.

Life is not easy for Abasse and his family. Without steady work, his mother relies on farming during the rainy season to grow enough food for the year. Abasse dreams of becoming a technician, hoping to one day help his community. Though he is often sick with a persistent cough, his hope shines bright and he continues to work hard in school. With the support of sponsors who believe in his potential, Abasse can pursue his education and bring positive change to his family and village.
